The Honourable Fredrick Opare-Ansah proclaims his candidacy for General Secretary.

Former Member of Parliament (MP) for the Suhum Constituency, Honourable Fredrick Opare Ansah, has expressed his intention to run for the office of General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Honorable Opare-Ansah, speaking at a ceremony themed: Restoring Grassroots Faith in Breaking the 8 and Beyond, held at Akoma Plaza in Takoradi in the Western region, said that having served in the public sector for several years, he sees this as a call to duty, and thus a call to help drive the NPP further towards its vision of remaining in the service of the nation as the ruling party.

This, according to Honourable Fredrick Opare-Ansah, is a call to return the NPP to the electorate to seek the support of Ghanaians to consolidate the extraordinary developmental policies that the Nana-led NPP government has implemented.
His policies, on the other hand, are essentially based on the notion of open-mindedness.
He will enable the formation of a level playing field for all aspiring parties in the context of internal party elections at whatever level, and will completely support whoever emerges as the Electoral College's choice in the discharge of their obligations.
Honourable added that he will usher in a new period of tolerance, inclusion, and openness.
He remarked how when he received his invitation to the party, he was ecstatic.
He even asked the Friends Of Opare-Ansah (FOOA) to invite the incumbent General Secretary to this gathering after receiving his invitation, so that he may hear for himself his declaration of intent to run for the position later this year.
"Building unity at all levels of the Party has been my hallmark," he added, "and that is how I was able to break the cycle of Suhum MPs serving only one term and consolidate the Suhum seat for the NPP."
He said, "Many of you here who know me well know that I am a very fair yet firm guy."
"The Party requires that."
"That is something the Party requires right now. He stated, "I enter the contest on my strength, not to advance the interests of any particular group inside the Party."
"It is my sincere hope that the Party's broader membership would accept me for this and allow me to represent their interests," he says.
The Party's current Call Center will be retooled and repurposed to gather feedback from the Party's grassroots and to engage the grassroots in promoting support for government initiatives.
The welfare of party members will be given proper consideration, but it is crucial to emphasize that the Party's duration in power is associated with its ability to govern.
The welfare of party members will be given appropriate consideration, but it is crucial to note that the Party's duration in power is not synonymous with the establishment and execution of sustainable, equitable welfare policies; yet, the longer they stay in power, the better for us all.
"I consider it as a duty to champion and supervise the construction of an effective and efficient electronic membership administration system that will make the process of registration onto the Party's register very straightforward and hassle-free," he continued, citing his political experience and technological ability.
"A system like this should make it easier for members in every place to join the Party, pay their dues on time, and know their standing at any moment without having to move around too much," he said.

He added that in the ongoing party reorganization elections, he has seen an average of about 200 voters at several polling stations across the country and that if they properly harness the energies seen in the party reorganization elections and convince members that once they pay their dues and the system recognizes them as being in good standing, they will be given voting rights and the right to run for office at any level, this will be a massive fund-raising opportunity for the party.
The Electoral College Registers will be generated by a computer program and will not be prone to manipulation, which could lead to disputes over who can vote and who can access nomination forms.
