The Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Mahama says the 2020 Election result was fictionalized and he is ready to take legitimate actions.

According to him, what was witnessed across the country on Monday, December 7 exposed the NPP’s deliberate plan to manipulate and predetermine the election and his party is confident that "what has happened is a violation of the law and tantamount of illegality" and he is not willing to accept it.

Candidate Mahama’s address at the headquarters of the NDC on Thursday evening came 24 hours after the Electoral Commissioner, Madam Jean Mensa declared Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo as the President-elect of Ghana.

The NDC earlier in the day met the press and the General Secretary of the party, Asiedu Nketia alleged that the EC have manufactured figures to declare the presidential race in favour of the NPP candidate Akufo-Addo and they are ready to prove their assertions.

He disagreed with the EC and described its outcome on Wednesday as flawed and discredited asserting that the statements from the EC to ensure a free, fair and credible election did not come to bear.

He established that "In respect of the Presidential election, the facts and figures available to us from pink sheets and other evidence that has unfolded in the country indicate that numerous steps have been taken to manipulate the results" and cautioned that the NDC will take legislative steps to reverse “this travesty of justice.”
