Residents of New Dormaa, Yawhima and its environs in the Sunyani municipality have expressed dissatisfaction about the rate at which the construction  of  road has been delayed.

Residents of New Dormaa, Yawhima, and its environs in the Sunyani municipality have expressed dissatisfaction about the rate at which the construction of the road has been delayed.


 They lament the delay has exposed them to respiratory disease and others due to the bad nature of the road.
“The dusty nature of our road is making life unbearable for us, we are tired of the empty promises finish the roads for us now”, they fumed.


Speaking to Soiree News Bono Regional Correspondent Nana Ama Asiedu, they insisted that the bad nature of the roads has brought untold hardship on them, adding that many precious lives have been lost on the road hence their concern.
“The part o the road which has potholes on them has left a lot of drivers with broken-down vehicles, while others visit their mechanics in rapidly.
 “Our businesses are collapsing due to the dust on the road. Though the contractor is back on-site and we are happy about the progress but they should start watering the road to help reduce the dust,” the residents angrily


Another said, “We are not going to wait for this to happen again. If the contractor fails to address our grievances, we will block the road to prevent such unfortunate incidents from happening”.


Meanwhile, According to the formerly Sunyani Regional Hospital, Dr. Jocob Amponsah Abebrese has warned against living dust.
“Living in dusty areas are likely to contract lung-related diseases due to the inhalation of dust.
