Ghanaian rapper and songwriter Enoch Nana Yaw Oduro- Agyei, known by his stage name Trigmatic  has claimed that the rapid spread of the coronavirus in Africa has exposed the soft underbelly of its infrastructure across all areas.

He called for prominent individuals to properly invest in science, technology, health care, and engineering following the COVID-19 pandemic as the current state of these sectors are nowhere near good enough.

The pandemic is currently ravaging through the world at inhuman speeds with Ghana already recording 566 cases of the virus as at 13th of April, 2020. The spread of the virus recently got to Africa, but it has been picking up at faster speeds in the continent than it has in the rest of the world.

Trigmatic has now pointed out, backing his claim with scientific evidence, that the rapid spread is due to the weak infrastructure that African countries possess. The musician said the virus has exposed Africa and there’s the need for the continent to make better investments going forward.

“With all that’s happening, I believe this new awakening will be for Africa and it’s leaders as well. The new Africa must start thinking of investment in science, technology, health care, engineering etc. We must look at building Africa for Africans," he said.

“We must come to a place where we decide that we are better than inferior goods, poor services, poor healthcare and follow back syndromes. We must have an agenda to have a free And independent Africa,” he added.
