Tettegu Chieftaincy Brouhaha: Weija Asafoatse Installed Traditional Office Holders Dragged To The Law Court
Weija Circuit Court in the Weija-Gbawe Municipality of the Greater Accra Region has fixed May 29, 2023 as hearing date of the lawsuit filed by the accredited and principal elders of Tettegu Divisional Stool under the Ngleshie Alata Traditional Council in James Town in Accra, seeking to nullify the illegally and unlawfully installation of ten young men into the traditional office positions by Asafoatse of Weija Stool, Nii Ayi Pampamku.

Nii Ayi Pampamku has crossed traditional and chieftaincy boundary to enter into the Tettegu Division Area in the Ga State to do what they described as "illegal and unlawful installation of some young men as Asafoatse, Mankrado and Dzaase," without the consent and knowledge of the legally and traditionally installed chief of Tettegu, Nii Kofi Kumah I.
Nii Ayi Pampamku has used performed illegal and unlawful rituals to the young men in Tettegu on Saturday April 25, 2023 to Sunday April 26, 2023 which has landed those persons in the grip of the law.

The traditional leadership of the Tettegu has dragged these people who were installed in Tettegu and Nii Ayi Pampamku to Weija Circuit Court and that these imposters were equally served with their writ of the sermons.
At a press conference in Accra on Monday May 8, 2023, addressed by the Spokesperson for aggrieved Concerned Youths of Tettegu, Mr. Kojo Amenyo kicked against the illegal and unlawful installation of the young men of Tettegu into the traditional office positions by Nii Ayi Pampamku.
They stressed that Nii Ayi Pampamku who was installed in Weija as Asafoatse has no locus to install anybody into the traditional office positions, warning of those imposters to stop accord that status to themselves.
According to the youths franked by the elders of the Tettegu Divisional Stool, the Weija for where Nii Ayi Pampamku was installed as Asafoatse is very far from Tettegu, adding that per the traditions, norms and customs, neither Weija Asafoatse or Weija Division Stool did not even fall within the Tettegu.
But the royal youths pointed out that Nii Ayi Pampamku has arrogated power to himself to cross to the Tettegu to operate although there is a recognized chief of Tettegu in the person of Nii Kofi Kumah I.
According to the youths, when the recognized traditional leadership of Tettegu confronted Nii Ayi Pampamku over his attitude to enter into their territory to install the young men into the traditional office, he (Nii Ayi Pampamku) boldly told them that he fears nobody and that the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the IGP, National Security and some judges in Weija Circuit Court are his friends.
The youths have showcased and supported their claims with pictures of the bad activities that Nii Ayi Pampamku has allegedly engaged the devices of some miscreants to commit in Tettegu which has threated peace and unity the people in the area are enjoying.
They indicated that Nii Ayi Pampamku is using the name of the President Nana Addo Dankwa to territorise the innocent residents in Tettegu without recourse to the law of the country.
Nii Ayi Pampamku clearly stated that he worked with President Nana Addo Dankwa and that nobody can prevent him from operating in Tettegu and its adjoining state in the Ga State.
They noted that Nii Ayi Pampamku stated boldly that "he would not respect the Nglishie Alata Traditional Council saying that we the concerned youths of Tettegu don't understand all that is happening.
Anytime the boys wounded innocent citizens with cutlasses and matchets and the matter was sent to police station, nothing is done about the matter.
“Also, the same matter is in court but nothing is being done about it. Anytime the boys did wrong and the police picked them up, Nii Ayi Pampamku goes there for the boys to come back to continue to misbehave. In fact, the boys used cutlasses and matchets to wound innocent people in Tettegu and the matter went to court for about two years now but nothing has been done about it.
"We are telling our President Nana Dankwa Akufo-Addo that are currently living in absolute fear in Tettegu now. And our lives are in danger so we want our President Akufo-Addo to impress the government security regulatory institutions to come to our aid," the youths appealed to the President.
