Tension Brews In Gbawe Township As Land-guards Chase Out Chiefs From The Gbawe Palace
Fear and panic have gripped residents in Gbawe township in the Weija Gbawe Municipality of the Greater Accra Region, following the invasion of the guns weirdly land-guards allegedly hired by Nii Boi Kojo family who chased out traditional office holders from the Gbawe Palace.
Following this frightening development, the traditional authorities have made a SOS calls to the National Security Minister and Inspector General of Police (IGP) to impress upon the police to place curfew on two feuding factions in the long unending chieftaincy dispute in the area.
According to the information available to Soireenews.com, the Gbawe township was thrown into a state of chaos today [ Saturday November 19, 2022] after the aggrieved land-guards hired by Nii Kojo Boi II from Oblogo chased out some of the elders from the Nii Kwatei family of Gbawe who petitioned the Odonkor Divisional Police Command over his (Nii Kojo Boi II) misconduct.
These hired miscreants reported to have chased out the chiefs and elders of Gbawe with matchetes and Ak 47 guns from the palace.
Sadly some people sustained injuries other properties were destroyed by these hoodlums.
Report has it that the chaos escalated when Nii Kojo Boi II with the intention to install his biological son as a chief to ascend the throne of Gbawe Divisional Stool in Accra on Saturday November 19, 2022.
It would be recalled that the members of Gbawe Kwatei family( the Petitioners) who are law abiding citizens moreover, royals wrote to the police to restrain Nii Kojo Boi II to install his son as a chief of Gbawe since there is a court injunction being placed on Nii Kojo Boi II. But he defiled the court orders.
In this sense the Gbawe Kwatei family appealled to the IGP to as a matter of urgency place a curfew to prevent the possible bloody clash.
