Teenage killer saga: Blame Media for all the menace - Nana Addo
Arrested Teenagers

The Otumfour Sukwaihene of the Asanteman Traditional Council, Nana Agyei Addo has laid all the blame on the various media house over the incessant advertisement of evil acts that led to the recent killing of an innocent soul.

According to the chief, it's very disheartening how the various media houses such as radio and television stations intentionally give airtime to these fraudsters and begin to sycophant them as if they are real.

In his view, all listeners and viewers believe in media houses and journalists and they are always of the firm conviction that whatever is endorsed by most journalists (media houses) are real.

"Why should we blame National Media Commission and National Communication Authority at expense of the media houses where these fetish priests, scammers, lotto fraudsters etc are allowed to operate. They create fictitious stories with the said media houses to sound it as real; we know".

His comment comes after two teenage boys were arrested at Kasoa for killing a 10-year-old boy for a money ritual. The act which came under the influence of a supposedly deceptive advert they watched on television has sparked a lot of conversation.

But reacting to the issue, Nana Addo is of the view that nobody blames any other than the various media houses.

The chief even though called on the media commission and the NCA to be wary of how they issue a certificate for people to establish media houses, but still insists media men and other authorities be largely blamed for the menace. He urged all media houses to desist from greediness and stop promoting these things that do not bring any development.

Finally, Nana Addo urged parents to be very cautious about the steps made by their wards.

He told that they should frequently check their movements, what they watch and what they eat.

He advised parents to be watchful of what their wards watch since most of these media houses nowadays feed us with trash.
