Information gathered by Soiree News indicates that a teacher has allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself with a piece of cloth at Tinkong in Akuapem North Municipality of the Eastern Region, Ghana.

The body of the deceased identified as John Atta Asamoah Duodu (a twin brother) well known by his colleagues as “O-Level” has been conveyed by the Adawso police to the morgue for preservation and autopsy.

The deceased did not leave any note behind, narrating the reasons for his action.

A source from his colleague teachers indicates that he was allegedly deceived to take a loan to invest in an online network marketing business known in Koforidua as Qnet which turned out to be a scam.

The information continued, that he always complained of hardship as a result of the huge deduction on his monthly salary.

Meanwhile, the deceased brother, Benjamin Boateng has narrated that “his late brother always complained that he only takes home GH¢500 after deduction of his loans, he was hallucinating too, and blamed the suicide on evil forces”.

The Assembly Member for Tinkong Electoral Area, Hon. Samuel Abokyi on his part confirmed the incident during an interview with the media.

He opined that on July 18, 2021, "we had a big funeral at Tinkong and we had information that someone has committed suicide. Adding that later on, the police called to report about the suicide incident so he went to the scene to find the body before the police conveyed it to the morgue.

He stressed that he hanged himself with a piece of cloth in his own room”, he emphasized.
