The residents of New Edubiase in the Adansi South District of Ashanti region were thrown into a state of shock after the news went viral that someone had kidnapped a two-year-old Lawrencia Agyei better known as Awura Ama.

The kidnapper whose name is not yet known was however arrested by the residents around the premises of Edubiaseman FM, a local radio station in the capital of Adansi South.

In an interview with the divisional police commander for New Edubiase, Dsp Francis Ackah exclusively told Soireenews' Kofi Wusu Brempong that the suspected kidnapper is not sound mentally "We've arrested a man believed to be in his late 30s for allegedly kidnapping a two-year-old girl, but upon further examinations, we realized he's mentally unstable, we've therefore called for his parents so we can establish our facts" Dsp Francis said.

Issues of kidnapping in the Adansi South district and its adjourning communities are novel as the police confirmed they have no such records in their books, however, Nana Adupako, a journalist with Edubiaseman Fm claims that they've heard of such issues in the last two days.

We will follow the story to the latter and bring you all the updates that need to be heard.
