Suspected Momo Fraudster arrested over Ghc1,500 Transaction 

The mobile money vendor dragged the suspect to the Koforidua Central police station where he was kept in custody to assist in the ongoing investigation.

A mobile money suspected fraudster has been apprehended by Police in Koforidua, the Eastern Regional capital of Ghana after a fraudulent transaction of Ghc 1,500.00.

On October 6, 2020, the suspect Mensah Israel at about 11:50 pm went to conduct a mobile money transaction near Koforidua Total-2 filling station.

The 55-year-old Mobile Money Merchant Joy Nwevo opined, that the Suspect made her transfer Ghc1,500 to MTN number 0546279029 but noticed he was not forthcoming in giving her the physical cash.

The suspect attempted to abscond but the mobile money merchant apprehended him.

"The vendor attempted to reverse the transaction but noticed the money has been withdrawn while the number switched off afterwards".
