This happened after the transport Minister Honourable Kwaku Asiamah commissioned the first flight to start it's operations in the region.

The Sunyani airport in the Bono Region has experienced its first commercial flight after seven (7) years of closure. 

This happened after the transport Minister Honourable Kwaku Asiamah commissioned the first flight to start its operations in the region.

At the occasion, the Minister of Transport, Honourable Kwaku Asiamah stated that he believes that, those in the Bono, Bono East, and Ahafo Regions respectively will support the aviation industry by helping the business of the airlines operating the flights to continue working to serve the people better.

He said the second phase of the airport will soon commence depending on how the people of Bono, Bono East, and Ahafo Regions patronize the movement of the flights that will be using the airport.

He, therefore, advised the flight Industry to work diligently to support and make sure people will love their hospitality in the aviation business to help them maintain the business relationship.

He urged the industry players of the Ghana Aviation Authority to also help in the reductions of commercial flight ticket fares to encourage more people in the 3 regions to be able to board flights to and fro in the other parts of the country.

To grace, the occasion was the Minister of Transport, Honourable Kwaku Asiamah, the Bono Regional Minister, Honourable Justina Owusu Banahene, Ghana Airport Company Management, Traditional Authorities, Political Leaders, the media, and other dignitaries.
