Sustainable Development Focus Ghana (SUDEF Ghana) is calling on the government to expand access to potable water in the communities during this COVID-19 era.

According to the Chief Executive Officer of SUDEF, Ghana John Baidoo as the world celebrates World Water Day amid the COVID-19 pandemic, underscores the vital need to guarantee access to water, particularly to those in vulnerable situations.

He said one way to prevent the spread of the virus is to practice proper personal hygiene by regular hand washing hence the need for government to expand the accessibility of portable water in communities. He made this call as today is commemorated as World water day.

This year’s celebration is under the theme Valuing Water’.This is a Global one-off day commemorated to draw attention to the importance of freshwater and advocate for the sustainable management of freshwater resources.
