The Majority Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu has tackled on roads, one of the greatest challenges of inhabitants in Suame Constituency assuring that the crises will be resolved by next year.

“Constructions have started at Abusua Kruwa, Maakro and Anomangye. After the contractor is done,  the next stop will be Nkwantwoma before Buohia, Kronom and Kwapra. The final stop will be Breman Central before Suame.

 

 

“We should have started from Suame because it is the capital of the Municipality. The layout is already there and we do want to serve the other town in the municipality before. The main roads will be made of asphalt in order to keep it long lasting, “he ended.

He delivered the news at the 35th National Farmers’ Day celebration at the Suame Municipal on Friday, December 6, 2019, themed, “Enhancing Small Scale Agriculture towards Agri-Business Development”.

The Minister for Parliamentary Affair also expressed that remembering the labors of Ghanaian farmers is significant and worthwhile due to their impact towards National Development.

He spoke that the agricultural sector cannot be left out in Nation building since it is the primary source of food products all over the world and a vass provider of direct employment for farmers.

 

 

“60 percent of workers in Ghana are farmers therefore celebrating them is demanding for the progress of the country.

He disclosed that the government investment towards industrialization in the country is defined from the roots of Agriculture. He spoke that raw materials and intermediate products to be processed is derived from the agricultural sector hence the need to elevate and improve the trade.

“The Government of Ghana is embark on industrialization, which boils to the point of agriculture. The agro-processing industry, transforming products originating from agriculture, forestry and fisheries is the government’s main ambition to be able to export some to earn the country foreign exchange“, he said.

“The demand of imports is stronger than our exports, as a result of that, the country always lacks behind in terms of finance”, he ended.

 

 

“The Gross International reserves (external assets that are readily available to and controlled by a country’s monetary authorities) under the Nana Addo administration is $8.9 billion dollars, the first time in the history of any government since independence. This has been possible because of government’s interest in the agricultural field. The non-traditional farming produce like the cocoa, yam, oil are great contributors to the level at which our International reserves lie today.

He spoke that although 95 percent of farming is done on small-scale methods yet that could not weaken its influence on the economy.

 

 

“About 95 percent of farming in Ghana are small scale, unlike South Africa, Cote D’lvoire who have adapted plantation farming yet they have been able to give us a result to empower the economy.  Farmers are playing a key role and need such a daily like this to be honored,” he said
