The National Council of Private School Teachers (N-COPST) has monitored discussions on various media platforms over the week and noted with grave concern the unfavourable terms and conditions for private school teachers who are trainees of the Private School Master trainers Common Core Programme (CPP) Workshop.
Executives of N-COPST demands that until better negotiations are put in place, the program should be halted as soon as possible since it will not favour members.

The core mandate of the National Council of Private School Teachers (N-COPST) is to seek the wellbeing of private school teachers and private schools in Ghana.
Concerns
Some few weeks back, the national executives of the Ghana National Council of Private Schools (GNACOPS), the main organiser, invited applications from private school teachers to attend the Common Core Programme (CPP) workshop, "a workshop we think is good for the progress of all private schools in Ghana".
"We the executives of N-COPST however have realized certain things (GNACOPS Terms and Conditions) about this workshop which we think will not help our members.

GNACOPS Terms and Conditions
GNACOPS will pay for trainees (private teachers) accommodation but feeding for the five (5) days training will be catered by the trainees.
Trainees (private teachers) are to pay for their own transportation from all the regions of Ghana to the training centre, Atomic Energy, Accra on 10th January 2021 as the reporting date.
Again, 100 members will be selected out of 308 trainees at the end of the CCP Workshop.
These Terms and conditions according to N-COPST will not favour its members, therefore "MOE, GES, NACCA, Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection should come to our aid for proper negotiations before the commencement of the CCP Program".
