Raheem Sterling is unhappy at Manchester City and could opt-out.

The English International has already paused contract extensions talks with the Premier League side only to be assured that he is in the plans of Pep Guardiola.

The Sun reports that Barcelona are monitoring Sterling’s situation and Joan Laporta could sign the former Liverpool man following the player’s revelation that he wishes to play for the Catalan club someday.

The 26-year old is into the last two years of his contract and wants assurances from Man City that he will get more regular game time before making any more commitments over his future.

Sterling has only started four matches for City and the news outlet says his chances of staying will depend on how much game time he gets.

He has started only four of City’s 11 matches this season — and also found himself out of the side in the final few weeks of last season.

Manchester City do not want to lose one of their key players in January and are willing to hold unto him, yet, it is up to Pep Guardiola to assure him of regular playing time.
