Spurs are confident of keeping hold of Harry Kane despite facing major a battle to qualify for the Champions League.

The £200m-rated striker is been monitored by Manchester City and United, according to the Daily Mail and a bid is likely to be submitted for the services of the Englishman.

The London club have had one of the worst runs ever in the Premier League, just a season away from playing in the UEFA Champions League final at the Wanda Metroplitano and losing to Liverpool by 2-1.

The dip in performance of Spurs saw Mauricio Pochettino replaced by former Manchester United and Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho yet things have not improved much as expected under the Portuguese seeing their exit from the Champions League by RB Leipzig.

The England captain cast doubt over his Spurs future on Sunday during an interview with Sky Sports' Jamie Redknapp where he admitted he wouldn't just stay at the club "for the sake of it".

According to Kane, he wants to win trophies, something Spurs have not done since lifting the League Cup in 2008.

Tottenham are reportedly well aware of Kane's growing agitation but they remain in a strong position to keep him, even if they fail to secure a top-four finish once the season resumes.

He has four years left to run on his current contract meaning Spurs are under no pressure to sell.
