Officials from Kwahu West National Disaster Management Organisation have visited the scene to provide technical support to avert the disaster caused by this spillage.

A dam created by Akroma Gold Mining Company, in the Kwahu West Municipality of the Eastern region of Ghana for its mining activities has allegedly failed to lead to spillage of the heavily polluted water into the environment.

The discharge of the polluted water is likely to contaminate all nearby rivers and other sources of water in the community.

According to residents, the incident has caused flooding in the immediate environment at Odumasua community and its surroundings.

Officials from Kwahu West National Disaster Management Organisation have visited the scene to provide technical support to avert the disaster caused by this spillage.

Officials of NADMO have promised to find out the cause of this flooding at the Kwahu West Municipality and its communities adding that they will find a lasting solution to avoid the reoccurrence of the flooding.
