The Bono Regional Minister, Justina Owusu Banahene has urged the contractor working on the New Dormaa Road to speed up work to ease the burden on residents leaving in and around the catchment area.

The Bono Regional Minister, Justina Owusu Banahene has urged the contractor working on the New Dormaa Road to speed up work to ease the burden on residents leaving in and around the catchment area.


While commending the contractor for his commitment in the discharge of his duties, the Bono regional Minister also charged him to consider the welfare of the resident's whiles discharging his duties.
“You have been one of the committed road contractors who have always been punctual with his work, it is worrying about the slow pace of work”, she said.
The Minister however disclosed that the contractor and CEO of the Sames company Ltd, Mr Samuel Opoku said, he wants to build a road that would last longer hence the delay.
Hon. Justina Owusu Banahene made the call when she together with her entourage visited ongoing road construction projects in the Sunyani Municipality.
He also appealed to the contractor to frequently water the dusty road.
One of the difficult situations the people living around New Dormaa- Ywahima-Kotokrom and its environs are going through is accessing quick means of transport especially coming to town in the morning and getting a taxi in the evening as some spoke with Soiree news
 Some of them were worried after the knowledge of what the contractor said about completing the project somewhere in December this year means situations will be worse should the dust persist for long without any intervention.
 They are also hopeful that the decision to close one side of the road to concentrate on the other first is welcoming but “he must speed up and make sure the numerous disease conditions that associate with the dust is prevented. They have called on the contractor to water the road frequently to prevent possible pulmonary diseases and deaths.
The Minister also expressed satisfaction with the work of the Chinese undertaking the Syno Hydro projects in Berlin and other places.
