Speaker of Parliament announces President Akufo-Addo's Ministerial appointment to MPs

Twelve out of the Sixteen formal Regional Ministers lost their positions following the new nomination lists of appointment.

The Right Honorable Alban Bagbin, Speaker of Ghana's Parliament has announced to Members of Parliament a list of persons nominated by the president to work with as ministers in his second term in office.

In Mr President's communication to the Speaker, he counted on members to give approval to his nominated candidates to enable him form his second Government to move Ghana forward.

Below are the names of persons nominated for the various Ministerial positions in the central government:

Albert Kan Dappah has been slated for the position of Minister of national security, Ken Ofori Atta as Minister of Finance, Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanteng; Trade and Industry, Dominic Nitiwul as Defense, Ambrose Dery the Interior, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey; Foreign affairs and Regional integration, Godfrey Odome for Attorney General and Minister for Justice.

The added revealed Dan Kwaku Botchwey for Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu for Parliamentary Affairs, Ursula Owusu Ekuffu; Communication and Digitization, Owusu Afriyie Akoto as food and Agricultural, Mathew Opoku Prempeh for Energy Minister, Yaw Osei AduTwum as Education Minister, Kwaku Agyemang Manu as Health Minister, Lands and Natural Resources in the person of the former Deputy Chief of staff, Samuel Abu Jinapo.

Other nominees are Kwasi Amoako-Atta as Minister for Roads and Highways, Francis Asenso as Minister for Works and Housing, Kwaku Ofori Asiamah as Minister for Transport, Mavis Hawah Koomson as Minister for Aquaculture and fisheries, John Peter Amewu as Railway development, water and Sanitation In the person of Cecilia Abena Dappah, Awal Mohammed for Ministry of Tourism, Adjoa Sarfo Sarah is tipped for the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Ebenezer Kwadwo Kum as Minister for Chieftaincy, Kwaku Afriyie as Minister for Science, Environment and Innovation, Employment and Labour Ministry will be headed by Ignatius Baffour Awuah, Kojo Opong Nkrumah as Minister for information, Mustafa Yusif for the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Meanwhile, the president as also added a list of people nominated to head the 16 regions in the country.

In the Ahafo region, George Boakye has been mentioned, Simon Osei Mensah for the Ashanti region, in the Bono Region Justina Owusu Banahene will be the head, Adu Gyan for Bono East, Justina Marygold Asan as Central Regional Minister, Seth Kwame Acheampong will be the Minister for Eastern Region if approved by parliament, as Henry Qwotery has been named as the Greater Accra Regional Minister.  Alhassan Shaibu has been tipped to head the Northern Region.

President Akufo-Addo appointed Yidana Zakaria for North East as Oti Region Will be supervised by Joseph Makubu. Savana Region had Mr Jebil, Stephen Yakubu for the Upper East, Dr Aziz Bin Salah for Upper West whiles Achibald Letsa has been named to take the role of the Volta Regional Minister.

Kwabena Okyere Darko has been appointed as the Western Region Minister and Western north to be supervised by Richard Obeng.

" I will be grateful if parliament will expedite the process of prior approval of my nominees so they can take up their positions forthwith and assist me to deliver my mandate for my second term.
