Junior High Schools in the country have today Tuesday 18th January 2022 resume this year's academic calendar for continuing students and new entrance who have acquired the school-going age.

It's usual of students  to absent themselves from school the very day school reopens.

Visit schools in the Sagnarigu Municipality and the Tamale Metro to uncertain the happenings at the educational institutions by Soireenews the schools were almost empty.

At the time of the visit this morning, some schools including Faileya Primary School have locked with some of their classrooms broken into by suspected criminals, the classrooms that were broken into were dusty and dirty. Mr. Lanyo who happens to be the Headmaster of the Faileya Primary refused to speak on the record but only told the news team that some of his teachers and students  reported earlier to the school.

At the Wovuwo Anglican Primary School, cleaning of classrooms was in session by both teachers and students  when Soireenews arrived.

In an interview, Mr. Haruna Sule, Assistant Headmaster of Wovowu Anglican Primary School said they helped the students  to sweep the school properly for Teaching and learning to begin any time soon.

According to him, the students are too young to do the cleaning alone, hence their decision to assist them.

"When you live the children to do the cleaning, they can't do it, so we just need to sacrifice to support them, does why you have seen us helping them, they can use the whole week to do the cleaning which will affect teachings".

Mr. Haruna however appealed for a fence wall around the school.

Another teacher also added his voice to the first-day cleaning exercise but was quick to appeal to parents to encourage their children to report to tomorrow for the effective term.
