Nana Agyei Addo - Sokwai Chief

Chief of Sokwai in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District, Nana Agyei Addo has once again notified Member of Parliament, Hon Benito Owusu Bio on the significance of putting an end to the threat posed by the broken bridge, located at the outskirt of his town as the country gets ready to vote in December.

According to the chief, if the broken link is left ajar, it will affect his votes in the constituency although he is trying to convince the youth to vote in favor of the New Patriotic Party to extend the reign of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to do more for Ghanaians.

The Sokwai shattered bridge located on the outskirts of the town for almost a year is slowly been washed away by flood, and its full collapse is imminent. The angry youth of the town have protested several times that if government does not attend to the crisis, they will abandon the polls since they are not benefitting from the national cake meant to be enjoyed by every Ghanaian.

Nana Agyei Addo disclosed in an interview with SoireeNews that inhabitants by their own efforts and finances acquired electricity and good drinking water, a mandate they believe should have been undertaken by the government hence their glorious plea to the Member of Parliament to come to their aid.

“Our road is very important at such a time. The rains have washed away our bridge and the rest will soon bow out of operation,” he told SoireeNews.

“We are appealing to Hon. Benito to resolve this problem for us. We know very well that when it comes to toilet and school, the government will surely take care of that but for now, I am much concerned with the bridge’s deadly situation.

“The assembly, the District Chief Executive and feeder roads have all seen the threat the road is posing yet nothing has been done about it for months now. We beg the government to please come to our aid.

“Inhabitants have done well in making sure that the town has access to electricity as well as water. We are appealing to the government to help us with the other key infrastructures like school, toilet facilities, and other things. We have lands to accommodate them and we are counting on their leadership.

“I won't encourage my people to avoid voting because of the broken road. It is my appeal that the government fixes the situation else it will go against them during the polls,” he ended.
