Snakes, Scorpions Chasing Out Pupils At Teacherkrom
The PTA chairman noted that most teachers refuse postings to the school due to the lack of accommodation facilities while those who accept do not stay for long before they ask for transfers to other places.

Information reaching Soireenews indicates that the already deplorable state of classrooms at Teacherkrom also known as Yaro Camp Basic and Junior High School (JHS) in the Bia West District of the Western North Region posing a grave danger to about seven hundred and sixty (760) pupils have gotten worse.
The children of Teacherkrom basic and JHS which was established in 2006 by the community sit on bare floor and the scorch of the sun for learning.
The deplorable nature of the school has become a death trap for children and teachers, paving way for snakes and scorpions to use the place for their abode.
Soireenews discovered that the development has put the pupils in danger of being bitten by these dangerous reptiles hiding in the surrounding shrubberies around the school.
Speaking in an interview with Soireenews via telephone call on Thursday, March 4, 2021, the Chairman of the Parents Teacher's Association (PTA) of the school, Mr Ibrahim Marone disclosed that the building had its roof ripped off during a heavy downpour for the past nine years ago adding that the school lacks classroom blocks, teaching and learning materials and sanitary facilities among others, making teaching and learning difficult.
He stated that any time it rains, lessons are disrupted because the pupils studying under the trees and sheds had to be sent home.
That unfortunate situation, according to the worried Chairman, was negatively affecting the Kindergarten (KG) and primary level of the school and the classrooms of the KG and primary subsequently becoming a death trap for both teachers and the pupils on the blindside of the Ghana Education Service (GES).
According to Mr Marone, majority of parents have vowed to take out their children from the school due to snake attacks.
He added that several attempts have been made for the structure of the school to be rebuilt but to no avail having made several appeals to the GES, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area and the Bia West District Assembly to provide classroom infrastructure to contain the high enrolment of the school have yielded no positive results.
The chairman noted that the situation was quite disturbing and has negative effects on the general performance of school children in the area.
