The President of Ghana National Association of Garment Markers, Mr Mohammed Mukaila Omar has reiterated that being self-employed improves the standard of living a person.

The President of Ghana National Association of Garment Markers, Mr Mohammed Mukaila Omar has stated that the dress marking association is here to help the youth to have the requisite skills to be self-employed and also to improve the standard of living.

He further said though they can't do away with unemployment from the country. the association helps to limit its rate.

Mr Mohammed Mukaila Omar, the National President of the Association, addressing the participants said the association is ready to help the youth acquire the requisite skills to be self-employed and to help improve their standard of living.

He further said though they can't erase the rate of unemployment in Ghana, however, the association will help lessen the rate of the jobless.

Mr Mukaila Omar made this comment when the association organised their 5th annual conference and launched its 10-year anniversary under the theme" Skills Development A Means To Combatting Unemployment Among The Youth And Improving The Living Conditions Of The People." 

Nana Yaw Badu, Chief of Sefwi Amafie on behalf of Katakyie Kwasi Bumangama II, the paramount Chief of Sefwi Wiawso Traditional area at the conference entreated apprentices to consider their work as a very special job and make their workplaces as an office just as the president of the republic has his own.

Nana Yaw Badu urged them to take their work seriously as every citizen in the country depends on them for garments.

Speaking with Soireenews reporter Nattybongo, some of the learners told that the trade has been of great benefit to them and even though they haven't completed learning yet it has reduced their parents' burdens.

Finally, they entreated their fellow colleagues to enrol to improve their living standards of living.
