A statement released by the Suhum Akempimhene palace has advised the general public to ignore the fake news from some unprofessional and stomach journalists because the gunshot was fired by a police officer stationed at OSU, Accra and not a National Security operative.

The office of the Suhum Akempimhene Palace in the Eastern Region has dispelled media reports which have tarnished the hard-won reputation of the chiefs and elders of the palace in the area.

According to the statement signed by the Public Relations Department of the Suhum Akempimhene palace, its attention has been drawn to a false publication circulating on the various social media portals that a National Security operative has fired a gun injuring six persons during the coronation and enstoolment of a Top National Security capo at Castle, Nana Amoako Darko as the Suhum Akempimhene on Saturday, 6, 2021

The statement copied to the Daily Analyst notes that the above-mentioned information was false simply because the unfortunate gunshot was fired by a police Detective stationed at OSU in the Greater Accra Region but not a national security operative.

"The truth of the matter is that, Although, the unfortunate incident occurred resulted to at least six persons sustaining Minor injuries but God being so good five of them were discharged from the Suhum government Hospital which the newly installed Suhum Akyampimhene paid all their hospital bills this morning whiles the only one left is positively responding to treatment.

"The false and fabricated news was a calculated attempt by saboteurs to ruin, damage, destroy, dent the hard-earned reputation of the national security capo and national security operatives who graced the occasion," the statement said.
