The Obuasi Divisional Police Commander, Superintendent Joseph Nyaaba has cautioned armed robbers targeting the Golden City to sign their death warrant before making such a move at the watch of the security service.

According to him, the Police Service is prepared and are willing to defend and protect the lives of residents to make the place a safe haven.

The Divisional Police Command has confirmed the arrest of one suspect in connection with a robbery case that took place at Oseikurom in the Amansie Central District of the Ashanti Region.

Speaking to Soireenews correspondent, Yaw Opoku, the Commander narrated that the Police were on normal patrol duty towards Oseikurom after sensing trouble along the way. On their way, they met three young men with a motorbike trying to break the doors of a parked Toyota Corolla. As the police approached the scene, the suspected robbers started shooting at them.

The Police exchanged fire with the suspected robbers which lead to the death of 26-year old Augustine from Bohyen Maase. One managed to flee but another; Tony Yaw Yeboah, 35-years of age who hails from Aboabo, a community in the Amansie Central district was arrested.

He continued that the Obuasi Divisional Police Command will work hard to bring the fleed suspect into book. Meanwhile, Tony Yaw Yeboah, 35years of age, will appear before the court on Thursday 8 July 2021.
