Shatta Wale’s Road Contractors Fight Gist Fully Explained
Shatta Wale

It all started with a rumour flying around that Shatta Wale had assaulted road contractors because they did not allow him to pass on his way to his house.

The rumour was accompanied by a video, which showed Shatta Wale and his Nima boys beating up the road contractors.

Many Ghanaians and blogs started to abuse Shatta Wale because he was interfering with government work.

Most were upset, as they noted that Shatta Wale is giving the government an excuse not to do its job; a government that rarely does its job.

As it turns out, this earlier rumour was untrue; the true story is much more complicated.

It was true that Shatta Wale had ordered his boys to disrupt the road, but it was for a different reason entirely.

The Dancehall giant had earlier told the construction workers to extend the road they were working on to his office road, SM secretariat road.

Although he did not pay them, he maintained that since he is a tax-paying citizen, he holds the right to ask for his roads to be fixed, especially when they are fixing others roads near his.

He made this clear to correct the rumour that his boys beat up the road contractors because he had paid them to fix his road but they did not.

The engineer on site had told Shata Wale's team to take the matter up with the project supervisors of the Department of Urban Roads.

For not extending the road to his secretariat road, Shatta Wale stormed the site with his boys on bikes and ordered them to halt the work.

"My boys went there and told everybody to stop work. If some of them were being stubborn and they were pushed, I didn’t ask anyone to beat anybody. I said they should go and stop the work so I meet the contractor," he said.

"I am a taxpayer so I have every right to talk my mind if I see a problem," He explained.

His actions all went bad quickly, as his fight hungry boys disobeyed his expressed commands and turned the confrontation into a physical brawl.

For this reason, he then rendered an unqualified apology to the road contractors because of the unruly behaviour of his boys.

He asked the engineer on site, Kennedy Acquah and his outfit, Oswal Investment Limited, for forgiveness.

The engineer had earlier accused Shatta Wale of assaulting his boys and slapping him.

"The man in question is someone that I know and have always wanted to meet. It is so unfortunate that things have to happen this way."

"I also want to say sorry to Kennedy for everything that happened and I hope he finds a place in his heart to forgive me. It is Ghana, and we are one people. I believe God takes care of the rest", he stated.
