Shatta Wale Made Me Go Viral - Renner

Renner has talked up Shatta Wale for the role he has played in bringing her to the spotlight.

The reggae artiste, who had once done a cover of Shatta Wale's track 'Ayoo', recalled how she has gained fame after Shatta Wale reposted the cover of the track she has done.

While speaking on the Power Entertainment Show on Power 97.9, she expressed her love for Shatta, Stonebwoy & Samini but stated that she loves Shatt Wale more.

This love, she said, came from the fact that Shatta Wale had supported her even without knowing her. 

“I like them all. I like bits of their lifestyles but I like Shatta Wale more… I say I like those who like me,”

“If anyone shows you love I think you should show it back… We’ve not met but the love he showed me and the cover I did that he posted has an impact on my career”

“He [Shatta] made it go viral… if he hadn’t posted it, it won’t have gone viral,” She stated.

Renner revealed how she had made covers of songs of other artists but none of them reposted.

Shatta Wale however watched it, gave her words of encouragement, and promised to collaborate with her. 

This singular gesture to her is what sets Shatta Wale apart from everyone else, she noted.

Renner bagged central music awards with nominations in 2016 and 2017 and won the best female vocalist in both years.

Shatta Wale himself has still not gotten back to social media after his long break.

The dancehall artiste took a break off all platforms earlier this year and does not look like he'll be coming back anytime soon.
