Shama Queen Mother Calls for Proper Sanitation of the Ghana's Beaches.
According to the Queen Mother, apart from the fishing and selling activities at our beaches, it also serves as a tourism centre where most people visit for fun, pleasure and relaxation occasions.

The Acting Paramount Queen Mother for Shama Traditional Council in the Western Region, Nana Akosua Gyemfuabah has hinted that the beaches in our country are very disgusting and embarrassing, hence there is a need for various stakeholders in the country to help make the beaches a better place.
According to the Queen Mother, apart from the fishing and selling activities at our beaches, it also serves as a tourism centre where most people visit for fun, pleasure and relaxation occasions.
She added that the beaches in the Western Region of Ghana are losing their purpose of relaxation and fun due to the current state of filth and bad smell engulfing the beaches making them lose their value and purpose.
Nana Akosua Gyemfuaba speaking in an interview with the media during a launch of a community hypes event by Corporation. The theme for the 2022 community hype is, "Collectively projecting the good and addressing the challenges in our communities".
The initiative which started some years ago, has undertaken several clean-up exercises at various communities within the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolis as well as the Efia Kwesimintsim Municipality, which brought out the innovative 4R Plus Initiative which is Reuse, Recycle, Reduce and Recover waste.
The Chief Executive Officer of corporations Foundation, Saviour Adzika, noted that the initiative is to strategically positions various communities for the needed support and also help to lift the sanitation standard within the communities in the Western Region, especially on the beaches.
