Sarkodie has been nominated in the 2019 Black Entertainment Television (BET) Hiphop Awards.

The Artiste of the Decade in the 20th edition of the Ghana Music Award will contest Falz (Nigeria), Ghetts (UK), Kalash (France), Lil Simz (UK), Nasty C (South Africa) and Tory Lanez (Canada) in the Best International flow of the Year category.

The 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards will make its triumphant return to Atlanta’s Cobb Energy Center after resting in Miami for the last two years in On October 5. Cardi B received 10 nominations including MVP of the year, hot ticket performer, hustler of the year, Best Collab, single of the Year, made-you-look award, and two nods for the best hip-hop video, & sweet 16 categories.

The Chief Executive Officer of SarkCess Music released his ‘Alpha’ album few months ago. The 20 minutes, six track extended play features the late Ebony Reigns and Joey B with impressive rhythmical instrumental backing.

BET International on Thursday unveiled the launch of a new category to honor artists from around the world during the BET Hip Hop Awards in the latest sign of fans' growing interest in performers from foreign countries.

"The award will be presented on-stage during the live broadcast, confirming BET’s commitment to recognizing the influence of international artists globally," Alex Okosi, executive vp and managing director, BET International and Viacom International Media Networks Africa said in a statement. "I believe that opportunities like the BET Hip Hop Awards position international artists for global success long after the winners are announced."

According to Connie Orlando, BET US’s heads of programming, the expansion of the award is aimed at commending artistes from different parts of the world for the hard work infused in music from different backgrounds.

"We are committed to celebrating the global impact of hip-hop culture. By introducing the best international flow category, artists of all backgrounds, regardless of location, will have an opportunity to reach BET’s audience of over 90 million viewers worldwide."
