Sammy Gyamfi Breaks Silence On 2020  Election Petition

National Communication Director for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Sammy Gyamfi has given the detailed accounts about the 2020 election petition case.

Mr Gyamfi has not been in the media space frequently since the hearing to the 2020 general election petition begun in the Supreme Court in Accra

His silence has left many Ghanaians wondering why a communication expert like him would be quiet on a case that bothers the NDC.

However, Sammy Gyamfi has finally appeared on Asempa FM’s Ekossi Sen Political Programme where he breaks his long silence on the case.

According to him, lawyers for President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo and the NPP have been attacking a legal brain like Tsatsu Tsikatsa, an action he believes does not go well especially with the integrity of lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata.

Lawyer Sammy Gyamfi added that the NDC legal team will not allow the attacks anymore since the NDC is in court to seek justice.

Mr Sammy Gyamfi told Philip Osei Bonsu that some lawyers of the NPP are nowhere close to Tsatsu Tsikata when it comes to the interpretation of the law.

“Stop prejudicing the case as if you know what the Judges will say. You are not Judges. We are only following the laws of the country that says if anyone is not happy with election results, they should go to court.

"So if you turn to attack the integrity of our lawyers then it’s not fair. Enough is enough, we will not allow such attacks to continue anymore, not under my watch.

"It is never right to refer to a leading member of the NDC legal team as intransigent. Tstatsu Tsikata is not your peer”. Mr Sammy Gyamfi noted.

Lawyer Sammy Gyamfi added that Mr John Dramani Mahama is in court to ensure justice over the presidential election result declared by the Electoral Commission of Ghana.

He says the constant changing of figures by the commission leaves a lot of questions to be answered.

“We are challenging the constant changing of the figures declared by the electoral commission. It is an important situation that should call for the interest of every Ghanaian.

But Referring to NDC lawyers as intransigents is unfortunate,” Gyamfi noted.
