Ex-Inter Milan ace Marco Materazzi has reportedly claim that Egypt’s Mohamed Salah is a better player than Algeria star Riyad Mahrez and Achraf Hakimi of Morocco.

With both Salah and Mahrez in the Premier League showing amazing displays in Liverpool and Manchester City respectively, it’s only natural for people to compare them, especially that they play in similar positions.

Each one of them was also successful in helping their sides clinch major trophies, with Salah winning the Premier League, UEFA Champions League and Club World Cup.

Mahrez on his part has also lifted two Premier League titles, the FA Cup and three EFL Cups with Man City.

He had also previously won the Premier League with Leicester City and captained the Algerian national team to their first Africa Cup of Nations in almost 30 years.

Where both players differ is in their individual records for their current clubs.

Mahrez has managed to score 40 goals and provide 38 assists in 146 appearances for City.

Whiles the Liverpool star – Salah, has 127 goals to his credit and 49 assists in just over 200 appearances for the Reds.

Both players have three African Player of the Year awards between them (two for Salah and one for Mahrez) and despite accomplishing similar achievements, Materazzi believes the Egyptian is better than his Algerian counterpart.

While Hakimi is undoubtedly one of the biggest talents of his generation, it would be unfair to compare the Paris Saint-Germain right back to the other two players as they play in more offensive positions.

Whenever the 2006 World Cup winner name is mentioned, one thing comes into our mind and that is the defender that provoked Zinedine Zidane and was instantly received a head-butt from the Frenchman.
