Sagnarigu MCE Begins Familiarization And E-Levy Tour

Honorable Yakubu Ahmed Mohammed, the Chief Executive officer for the Sagnarigu Municipality together with Madam Felicia Tetteh commenced a joint familiarization and thank you tour in the Sagnarigu Constituency.

Madam Felicia Tetteh was the Parliamentary Candidate for the New Patriotic Party in the Sagnarigu Constituency and the current Northern Regional coordinator for the school feeding program.

The chiefs and elders of various palaces tabled their Challenges including water, bad road network, and job opportunities before the two prominent persons.

The Chief Executive on his part assured them of the government’s commitment to dealing with those problems critically.

The MCE, took his time to educate the chiefs and elders of government policies, particularly, E-LEVY. He justified the reason for the people to support the E-LEVY in order for development to reach their doorstep.

He added that E-LEVY is not a bad revenue mobilization policy government wants to implement and that in the slimmest unlikely event NDC wins power they will not abolish it.

Honorable Yakubu also disclosed a policy called “PAY AS YOU DUMP” he’s bringing on board to help improve the sanitation problems within the Municipality. "With the “Pay as you dump” policy, depositors of refuse would be levied a token for the dumping of refuse". 

He stressed that the fund will be managed by the assembly members and unit committee members of various areas within the municipality.

The former, parliamentary candidate, Hon Felicia Tetteh also thanked the chiefs and people for the massive votes cast her favor in the just ended 2020 elections. She however pledged her support to MCE to ensure positive development within the municipality.

4. Malshagu palace 
5. Sorugu palace 
6. Yongdooni palace 
7. Dabogushee palace
8. Songbil yili 

The chief executive is expected to continue with the familiarization tour to the remaining communities in the Sagnarigu Municipality.
