Sack Our Non-Performing DCE Now - Awutu Senya West youth tell Akufo-Addo
Mr Stephen Kwame Quaye, DCE

A pro-New Patriotic Party (NPP) group calling itself, Patriots of Awutu Senya West in the Central Region has asked President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo not to nominate the District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr Stephen Kwame Quaye again because of his abysmal performance whiles in office.

The aggrieved group in a statement copied to Soireenews today signed by the leadership of the group in the persons, Mr Carlos Arhin, Mr Godfred Quaye and Kofi Alla, is calling for his removal from office for non-performance and requested the President not to renew the mandate of the DCE.

According to them, he has failed to perform to the expectation of the people he claims to be serving.

The group accused the DCE of having no respect for the chiefs and neglect of the NPP members within the Municipality.

They alleged that the DCE, both in conduct and in speech fueled factionalism by selectively working with few preferred NPP executives.

"Our DCE has no respect for the chiefs, "I mean the owners of the land. Because they are non-partison,  they are not showing it. They will explode in future," the group added.

The group accused Mr Quaye of sidelining them and disregarding party structures in the discharge of his duties.

The group noted that the abysmal performance is obvious that Mr Quaye cannot perform hence need to be shown the exit since he has not been able to champion infrastructural development to the area.

The statement asserted that the Awutu Senya West's development has been stagnant for the past  four years during "your era as president is as a result of a DCE who is not qualified to be in that office."

According to the statement, the former Member of Parliament (MP) for Awutu Senya West, Hon. George Nenyi Andah lobbied for this man to be appointed as DCE for the district knowing very well that he is not qualified to occupy that position.

"Mr President, why did you appoint a form four(4) leaver as a DCE when we have a lot of qualified people within NPP? We do not want to mention names of people else it may trigger disunity within the NPP.

"HE Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo the UNICEF District league table showed that this district has dropped from 5th position during NDC's era to 26th position in 2018/2019. This is as a result of how weak our DCE is. Please we call on you to change him now or Awutu Senya West will remain like this forever

"Mr President the MP was blamed for no projects but the constituents must also blame the DCE, Stephen Quaye for using the district common fund for his family and friends," the statement explained.

It noted that the DCE has enriched himself within the last four years, adding that "If a man who was working as a security guard at COCOBOD is now buying cars for his children, building mansions for himself whilst the whole district is suffering in terms of development, it should tell you the danger we have ahead in the next four years."

"Moreover, our security, sanitation, employment etc issues are worst under this DCE. He drives around busily doing nothing! He cannot as a DCE show us just two projects he has been able to do as DCE in the last four years. The BNI must come and investigate him," the statement appealed.

It stressed that "We need a change in the DCEship now so that Awutu Senya can develop again.

The statement said "Our DCE is the only DCE who doesn't want to see educated people around him. He sees everyone having a higher qualification as a threat and for that matter pushes them away. How can we build the district with this can kind of primitive attitude?"

It stated that "Mr President, the DCE you gave Awutu Senya District has no respect for the chiefs, I mean the owners of the land. Because they are non-partison,  they are not showing it. They will explode in future.

The statement impressed upon, Mr Akufo-Addo Akuffo to draw attention to call on the BNI to investigate Hon. Stephen Kwame Quaye, for selling land at Awutu Kwaman, bought by the former DCE(NDC's era) to be used for a government project.

"We are staying that Mr President, We want the BNI to come and listen to what the people are saying and not what people are lobbying to become.

"Any candidates who have the intention to contest should come out boldly but must come clean because Patriots of Awutu Senya West will not entertain bad leadership," it further stressed.

The statement emphasized the need for the President to appoint a person the people like not those who cannot be walked over, those who are grassroots people, adding that Awutu Senya West must rise again under new leadership.
