Eleven years ago, then-UFC champion Ronda Rousey tweeted a YouTube video questioning what transpired. Twenty pupils and six staff members were killed in the attack on December 14, 2012.

During a recent AMA (ask me anything) on the social media site Reddit, Rousey, 37, was bombarded with inquiries concerning previous comments.

In a statement posed on X on Friday morning, Rousey said it was " the single most regrettable decision" of her life and that she had planned to include an apology in her recent memoir before her publishers asked her to take it out.

"Honestly I deserve to be hated, labelled, detested, resented and worse for it," Rousey told the press. "I deserve to miss out on every opportunity; I should have been dropped, and I would have earned it.

"I still do."I apologize for the hurt I caused to those affected by the Sandy Hook massacre, even though it is 11 years later. I am deeply sorry for the pain you've endured and deeply ashamed of myself for contributing to it.

Rousey released the second part of her memoir 'Our Fight' earlier this year and is presently promoting the release of her debut graphic novel.

The former WWE star has 17.5 million Instagram followers, making her the most followed female athlete. Rousey continued, "I've regretted it every day of my life since and will continue to do so until the day I die."

"Digging these conspiracies does not make you edgy or an independent thinker; you are not doing your due diligence in considering every possibilities. "They will just leave you feeling weak, terrified, depressed, and alone. You're only harming others and yourself.

"Regardless of how many bridges you've burned over it, stop digging yourself a deeper hole, don't get wrapped up in the sunk cost fallacy, no matter how long you've gone down the wrong road, you should still turn back."
