Cristiano Ronaldo sent a message to the Manchester United fans after the Red Devils were thrashed by their rivals.

It was a dark day for the club as they were on the receiving end of the 5-0 defeat.

The players came under fire for the way they played at Old Trafford and Ronaldo sent a message to the fans on Instagram.

Although many were expecting an apology from the former Real Madrid man to Liverpool youngster, Curtis Jones following his rude attitude on the field of play towards whiles on the ground trying to frustrate the Portuguese.

It turns out that Ronaldo has kept a blind eye to the situation which chastised him with a yellow card and preferred to comfort fans of his team.

He wrote: “Sometimes the result is not the one we fight for. Sometimes the score is not the one we want.

“And this is on us, only on us, because there’s no one else to blame. Our fans were, once again, amazing in their constant support.

“They deserve better than this, much better, and it’s up to us to deliver. The time is now!”

Manchester United are now 7 on the table with 14 points.
