Roads and Highways Minister, Mr Samuel Amoako Atta has consoled the remaining six victims who were involved in an accident at the Tema tollbooth in the Greater Accra Region which claimed one life on Monday, July 12, 2021.

The sector Minister who was shocked by the incident consoled the victims to visit the Tema General Hospital Tuesday, July 13, 2021.

During the visit, Amoako Atta who was accompanied by police chiefs of the Tema Police Command was told about the demise of Isaac Kojo Koomson who sustained multiple fractures to the legs and arm.

The visit also afforded the minister the opportunity to interact with some toll booth attendants and police personnel.

It would be recalled that in the morning, Monday, 12 July 2021, a tipper truck crashed into the tollbooth.

Two attendants a visually- and hearing-impaired man was among the injured.

Aside from the damage caused to the tollbooth, two vehicles, including a saloon car with registration number GT 469-10, whose occupants also sustained some injuries, was destroyed beyond repairs.

Eyewitnesses surmise that either the driver failed his brakes or was inexperienced.
