Reverend Dr. Lawrence Tetteh Launches National Prayer Rally Under the Theme "This Nonsense Must Stop"
The non-denominational rally, themed “This Nonsense Must Stop,” is aimed at uniting religious leaders and believers across the country to pray for divine intervention in Ghana's affairs.

World-renowned evangelist and President of Worldwide Miracle Outreach (WMO) and the Lawrence Tetteh Ministries (LTM), Reverend Dr Lawrence Tetteh, has announced the commencement of an 11-day National Prayer Rally, scheduled from May 1st to May 11, 2025, at 6 p.m. each night.
The announcement was made during a press conference held in Accra.
The non-denominational rally, themed “This Nonsense Must Stop,” is aimed at uniting religious leaders and believers across the country to pray for divine intervention in Ghana's affairs.
According to Dr. Tetteh, the rally will address the numerous challenges plaguing the nation from political instability and social injustice to moral decay and the destruction of the environment.
"We are living in absurd times. The nonsense in our politics, education, Health and socio-economic structures must stop,” he declared. “This program is a call for spiritual awakening, national repentance, and unity.”
Dr Tetteh emphasized that the phrase “this nonsense must stop” is not an insult but a reflection of the painful realities Ghanaians are facing daily.
He expressed concern about the state of governance, religious leadership, and societal morality, asking pointedly, “Where is the God of Ghana?”
He called on both Christian and Muslim leaders to rise and take responsibility, noting that together they form over 95% of the nation’s population and must act as the moral compass of society.
He reminded the public that prayer is not optional in such trying times: “Ghana will not be saved by politics or economic strategies alone. We need divine intervention, and prayer is pivotal.”
Dr. Tetteh also addressed ongoing national concerns, including the Bawku conflict, urging traditional rulers, civil society, and youth groups to become ambassadors of peace.
He appealed to security agencies and private investigators, particularly the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB), to intensify efforts in ending illegal mining (galamsey), which he said has led to environmental destruction and alarming health risks, such as children being born blind due to polluted water bodies.
Foreigners caught in galamsey activities must serve their full jail terms before being deported. Chiefs must not sit idle while our lands are being destroyed,” he added passionately.
He lamented the widespread indiscipline seen across all sectors from the judiciary, executive, legislature, and religious institutions to legal and civic spaces describing it as unacceptable and in need of urgent spiritual redress.
The evangelist concluded by inviting all Ghanaians, regardless of background or denomination, to join the prayer rally, stating, “Let us rise as a nation and pray for ourselves and our country. It’s time to stop this nonsense.”
