Residents block stretch to protest bad road
La Nkwantangang-Madina Municipality residents have given the government a one-month ultimatum to fix their road.
Some residents in the La Nkwantangang-Madina Municipality in Accra have blocked the Ayi-Mensah, Danfa and Otinibi stretch in protest against the bad nature of their roads.
The drivers and other road users were stranded on Monday morning, October 25, 2021, due to the demonstration.
They blocked every access to the community road and school children are unable to go to school.
Some of the protestors who spoke to Soireenews called on the government to without delay deploy contractors to fix their roads
The organizer of the protest, Alhaji Fayila called the IGP to release their members including their Member of Parliament (MP) who was arrested by the police but later released.
The Assemblymember of the Danfa, Otinibi electoral area, Hon Charles Oko Teye said they are given the government a one-month ultimatum to fix their roads or face massive demonstration.
