Reports About Fire Outbreak At Achimota Mall Was Only A Simulation Exercise–Ga East NADMO Discloses 

The Ga East National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) has expressed surprise on the misrepresentation of its routine emergency protection drill as a fire outbreak at the Achimota Mall by sections of the media.

A number of on line media stated that fire had gutted portions of Achimota Retail Mall inflicting injury to a few shoppers. 

The Ga East NADMO has brushed off the report as absolutely fake and unfounded and assured the overall public that Achimota Retail Centre has not had any fire incident and has been open all day doing business meeting the responsibility of serving its several clients and buyers.

The Ga East NADMO in collaboration with the Ghana National Fire Service  and Ghana National Ambulance service has conducted a disaster simulation exercises in the Achimota Mall to assess the readiness of Mall to respond to incidence of flooding and reduce the impacts of disaster.

The Ga East Municipal NADMO Director, Seth Osei Kissi has been speaking to the media.

Officials from the Abelemkpe Fire Station also discussed the practical ways to respond to the different scenarios, identifying the equipment and personnel needed to ensure effective execution of the response process during a disaster or fire outbreak.
