Religious leaders have been charged to equip themselves for the task ahead as they prepare the Church for the coming of Christ.

Reverend Father Richard Gyamfi Bediako on behalf of the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Sunyani, Most Reverend Matthew Kwasi Gyamfi made the comment at the 55th session of the Brong Ahafo Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana held at the Peniel Retreat Center at Ayakomaso in the Sunyani West Municipality of Bono Region.

Rev. Gyamfi Bediako touching on the theme for the programme; "Equipping the saints for the Ministries of Christ," described it as timely since functionalism has taken over the rich rituals and traditions of our Christian faith.

As pastoral agents, he implored them to equip themselves with the requisite tools for the ministry ahead so as to instil good morals into young ones.

He entreated pastors to trust God to accomplish the mission He has entrusted in their care. He further encouraged them to be examples as they continue to be witnesses of the Lord and not preach sugarcoated sermons as they are dangerous to souls.

Rev Fr. Bediako said the Church must be prepared for salvation and not wealth on earth.

Acting moderator of the General Assembly of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana, Rev. Emmanuel Elisha Attu acknowledged the enormous contribution being made by the PCG to individuals and Ghana at large and prayed for God’s blessings for the church.

On his part, Very Rev. Afful Sackey who represented the Bishop of the Methodist Diocese of Sunyani Rev. Matthew Kwasi Gyamfi prayed for a fruitful session.

The Central District Minister of the Church of Pentecost, Pastor Daniel Okakyire Ameyaw on behalf of the Area Head, Apostle Mark Obeng Andoh said they are united in Christ Jesus with the Presbyterian Church of Ghana.

He called on the church to project and manifests the love of Jesus Christ in a way that brings transformation in our society. He thus commended the church as he believes the PCG is already championing the course.
