In a statement on Thursday March 16, 2023 copied to Soireenews.com,  Concerned Drivers Association Of Ghana has sited a letter from the Ministry of Finance dated March 13, 2023 to the ministry of roads and Highways proposing the reintroduction of road tolls across the country.

The Concerned Drivers Association Of Ghana has vehemently rejected reintroduction of road tolls on public roads and bridges in the country.
In a statement on Thursday March 16, 2023 copied to Soireenews.com,  Concerned Drivers Association Of Ghana has sited a letter from the Ministry of Finance dated March 13, 2023 to the ministry of roads and Highways proposing the reintroduction of road tolls across the country. 
The drivers Association in the statement called on the government to as matter of urgency abolish their plan to reintroduce road tolls on our poor road networks.
According to the statement, it is a fact that the abolishment of road tolls has reduce unnecessary congestion traffic various Highways. 
"If it will be recalled,the government made it clear to us that,they are replacing the road toll with e-levy hence the need to scrap it off. 
"What happens to E-levy? The government must explain the reason behind the sudden diversion considering the current mismanaged economic situation we find ourselves as a country. 
The statement urged all drivers Association , Drivers unions and all our stakeholders to resist any attempt by the government to imposed roads tolls on us. 
It stressed that the public must also add their voices as the negative impact will be staring at them.
