Some market women in the Techiman Central Market, have lamented over the huge refuse waste at the market.

In an interview with our reporter Sikahemaa, the aggrieved market women revealed that sales have reduced as a result of the refuse waste at the market.

"People no longer comes to buy things from the market because of the nature of the refuse wastes in the market and this is affecting us a lot," they told our reporter.

According to them, the refuse wastes have been heaped at the Techiman Central for close to two years but it seems the appropriate authority, Zoom Lion Ghana, has turned a blind eye to such development.

They alleged that Zoom Lion Ghana in the Techiman South Municipality doesn't clean the market neither do they collect the refuse wastes at the market which in turn has dirtied the surroundings making marketing activities very difficult for them.

They are praying on the Techiman South Municipal Assembly and the Traditional Council to step in and order Zoom Lion Ghana to do the needful.

Some traders further disclosed that, despite paying taxes to the Municipal Assembly, they still have to hire someone to collect the refuse wastes at the market a situation they believe is unfair.

"We pay tickets every day to the Assembly but when it comes to keeping the market clean to enable us to conduct our trade, the Assembly doesn't mind us"

"We have to pay a man to come and collect the refuse wastes and he sometimes doesn't show up making it very difficult for us, we are not seeing the benefits of the tickets we pay daily to the Assembly". They said.
