Re-introduce Extra-Classes Now - Government Told

The Proprietor of St -Andrews Senior High School at Assin Fosu in the Assin Central of the Central Region of Ghana, Dr. Richard Aseidu, has appealed to the government and the Ministry of Education to re-introduce extra classes to help improve the performance standard of learning.

He said the extra classes help the schools to complete the syllabus that has been given them thereby helping students to pass their final exams.

He argued that the many SHS graduates who experienced failure in the 2020 WASSCE were caused by the conciliation of extra classes among other factors.

He further argued that many students who graduate from private institutions are seen to be very brighter than those from government schools. He said the truth is that the private schools do intensive extra classes for students therefore they are able to cover the Ghana Education Syllabus.

He said the best way to prevent students from failing exams is to introduce extra classes in the government educational institutions therefore the government of Ghana should give it a second thought to reintroduce the extra classes.
