Manchester United will miss the impact of three key players on Monday night against Arsenal FC

Marcus Rashford, Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial will be absent from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad at Old Trafford in their seventh league fixture.

Martial has been out for a month with thigh injury.

He played no part in United’s 1-1 draw at St Mary’s against Southampton, Leicester’s visit to Old Trafford which the Red Devil’s won by a slim margin, the Europa League victory, loss to West Ham in London and the Carabao Cup triumph.

Rashford also missed the English Football League Cup against Rochdale on Wednesday night as Pogba, who featured in that game suffered a knock on his ankle.

“Rashford and Martial, I wouldn’t put my life on it but that’s part of the game, you work with what you have and we are looking forwards to this game,” he said addressing the press ahead of the game.

Manchester United have had a challenging start to the season after hitting four against Lampard’s Chelsea at Old Trafford.

Their switch to the development of young players and acquisition of home grown talent has malformed them from title contenders to top four challengers. They have won two, drawn two and lost two games out of six Premier League matches. Their challenge against in form Arsenal with Aubameyang controlling affairs is a tough test for Solskjaer in this part of his career.

“I’ve said it many times, there are going to be ups and downs, highs and lows and when we lose a game we have to trust ourselves and what we’re doing, eyes on the prize and keep working to the principles we believe in.

“Any game in the Premier League is winnable but is also loseable, it’s margins, fine margins and sometimes you stand there smiling happy to have won a game, sometimes angry because you’ve lost, you’ve got to portray the right image.”

He attributed their struggles in the opening season to the forward’s inability to hit the goals in the net.

“The other way, going forward, is where we’ve struggled with injuries, Paul [Pogba], Anthony, Marcus, we’ve had some bad luck in that respect.

“It’s about building relationships and it doesn’t help when you lose players.

“These boys need to get the pattern of play and if you’re half a second with your movement, sometimes finishing could be better, could be frustrating but that’s also down to some outstanding keepers out there.”
