Ras Nene Sadly Reveals His Retirement Date

Ras Nene has declared he will retire in the year 2021.

He intimated that he would be calling time off on his 20-year acting career by the end of the year 2021 in an interview with ZionFelix.

The effervescent actor known for his comic roles in viral YouTube skits has pleaded with his fans to brace themselves for the announcement.

“I will retire from acting this year, I have found my grounds, it’s now time to support the young ones in the industry. By the end of 2021, I will go on retirement, I am tired,” he said

According to him, he has paid his dues in the movie industry and it is high time that he proceeds to groom and promote upcoming actors and actresses who might need mentorship and guidance.

“I have been through a lot, I have suffered, but through it all, I had patience and trust in God. He has been good to me this past 3 years, but I have decided to quit acting this year. I want to be behind the scenes,” he explained.

On to his next challenge, Ras Nene said:

“I appreciate what I have, there are great men in this country who have died leaving their wealth behind… every ghetto boy is a pastor, I always say this, Shatta Wale is a prophet, he says a lot of things that people don’t understand, same happened with Tupac.”

He further explained why he moved into YouTube skits from the mainstream.

“The Kumahood movies wasn’t performing so well, there wasn’t anybody to promote our works. This was the time that witnessed the popularity of YouTube... most of us were interested in putting our work on that platform,”

“With this move, I was able to take up any role I liked… my fans who knew me for playing action roles were surprised to see me playing comic roles .”
