Queen Mothers Have Donated Menstrual Pads To Students  At Kwamankese

The presentation of 2000 menstrual pads to female students between the ages of 12 and 18 was the high point of the Queen mothers visit to the school, which also featured some education and interactive sessions with students on the importance of safe menstrual health and hygiene.

The Paramount Queen-mother of Kwamankese Traditional Area, Nana Ekua Enyima III in collaboration with Amankurahemaa, Nana Egyama Egyiriwa Ansaba I, and Kwamankese queen mothers has donated a consignment of menstrual pads to female students in Kwamankese in the Abura Asebu Kwamankese District of the Central Region. 
The presentation of 2000 menstrual pads to female students between the ages of 12 and 18 was the high point of the Queen mothers visit to the school, which also featured some education and interactive sessions with students on the importance of safe menstrual health and hygiene.
Speaking in an with journalists after the presentation, the paramount Queen mother, Nana Ekua Enyima III said many of the girls had stopped attending school due to the negative social norms surrounding menstrual hygiene management. 
She said some girls also dropped out of school and got pregnant in their traditional area because of a lack of sanitary pads. 
Nana Ekua Enyima III appealed to the Government to castrate any man who pregnant any student and also give traditional leaders the Authority to deal with them. 
On her part, the NCCE Director for Abura Asebu Kwamankese District, Miss Elen Osei Akon said the traditional leaders are doing their best and so the parents should also teach their wards to help reduce the high rate of teenage pregnancy in the district. 
Some of the Students also shared their profound gratitude to the Queen mother and promised to abstain from teenage pregnancy.
