Quash Danquah -Dombo-Busia Tradition -Musah Superior Tells NPP

A leading member of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Musah Superior, has called for the complete scraping of the long existence Danquah-Dombo-Busia tradition.

According to Mr Musah who is the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Forestry Commission (FC), the tradition has outlived its usefulness.

He argued that it is important to quash the tradition because it divides the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) needlessly and encourages some false sense of entitlement.

He added that, "it doesn't appear young voters identify with the Danquah/Busia/Dombo "tradition". He said most members of the Party from other parts of the country apart from the Regions the three personalities come from feel alienated by "our decision to use only three personalities to name our valued tradition.

"We must mordenise our Party, change our posture and be innovative so that we can carry the Ghanaian youth along". Musah Superior  said he will formally write to the National Council of the Party to proscribe the DBD name.

He called on all Presidential hopefuls to campaign devoid of ethnic or religious  pronouncements and conduct themselves in a manner that with bring harmony and unity into the Party.

The Danquah-Dombo-Busia tradition is the oldest surviving political tradition in Ghana that dates as far back as 1947, before Ghana attained independence
