The Gyaasehene of Berekum in the Bono Region, Nana Twene Amanfo II has urged the government to put proper measures to safeguard the Police to enable them to protect Ghanaians.

Nana Twene Amanfo in an interview with Soiree news blamed the rampant killings of  Police officers on lack of protective logistics to aid their operations.

The chief’s call follows the recent attacks and killing of police officers by armed robbers.

The police service has come under robbery attacks with the recent one being the daylight robbery on a bullion van at James Town which lead to the death of general Constable Emmanuel Osei, a 25year old officer with the SWAT team of the police service who was on escort duty on the van.
