Akyempim traditional structures.

According to the Special Correspondent for the Kingmakers and Principal Nsona Royal Family of Gomoa, Buduattah, Mr Kwame Kwadade it is a high for the citizens of the area to call Ahor Ahunako Ankobia II to order because his current actions and inactions are undermining their tradtions,  norms and customs.
He stated that in his write up that the continous habit of Obrifo Ahor Ahunako Ankobia II and his followers to hire the armed landguards to occupy the palace of Gomoa Akyempim Traditional Area was unlawful which must be protested.

He noted that under the unwavering leadership of the Paramount Queenmother, Obaatanpa Ama Eduwa I, the Principal Nsona Family of Gomoa, Buduattah, and the Kingmakers of Gomoa Akyempim have taken a firm stand against these encroachments.
"Today, September 11th, 2024, in Gomoa Assin, the Traditional Capital of the Gomoa Akyempim (Assin) Traditional Area in the Central Region, a delegation led by the Queenmother herself gathered from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. to confront the unlawful occupation by landguards sent by the customarily destooled chief, who has disgracefully transformed his private residence into the de facto palace of our state.
"This marked the beginning of a significant stand against this blatant disregard for our customs, with plans to continue the protest and defense efforts throughout the weekend," he stated in the statement.
According to him, the Principal Nsona Family of Gomoa, led by the resolute Paramount Queenmother Obaatanpa Ama Eduwa I, has shown the way.
"Now, it is up to the rest of us to join this righteous cause and demand that our traditions, institutions, and customs be respected and preserved.
"We must rise in unison to defend the sanctity of our governance structures and ensure that those who seek to exploit them for personal gain are held accountable. Our forebears fought to preserve our way of life; now, it is our turn to protect their legacy," he stressed.

SABOTEURS AT THE HELM: HOW ONE CUSTOMARILY DESTOOLED CHIEF IS UNDERMINING OUR TRADITIONS
By Kwame Kwadade, Special Correspondent for the Kingmakers and Principal Nsona Royal Family of Gomoa, Buduattah
The once-hallowed grounds of Gomoa Akyempim (Assin) are under siege, their sanctity violated by forces within.
The very institutions that have stood as pillars of our cultural heritage and communal harmony for centuries now face a dire threat—not from external enemies, but from one of their own: Omanhen Obrifo Ahor Ahunako Ankobia II, a chief who was customarily destooled yet continues to claim authority and wreak havoc on our traditional structures.
Under the unwavering leadership of the Paramount Queenmother, Obaatanpa Ama Eduwa I, the Principal Nsona Family of Gomoa, Buduattah, and the Kingmakers of Gomoa Akyempim have taken a firm stand against these encroachments.
Today, September 11th, 2024, in Gomoa Assin, the Traditional Capital of the Gomoa Akyempim (Assin) Traditional Area in the Central Region, a delegation led by the Queenmother herself gathered from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. to confront the unlawful occupation by landguards sent by the customarily destooled chief, who has disgracefully transformed his private residence into the de facto palace of our state.
This marked the beginning of a significant stand against this blatant disregard for our customs, with plans to continue the protest and defense efforts throughout the weekend.
A CUSTOMARILY DESTOOLED CHIEF’S DEFIANCE: DISRESPECT FOR TRADITION AND AUTHORITY
Omanhen Obrifo Ahor Ahunako Ankobia II’s defiance of tradition and authority is unprecedented. Since his ascension in 2001, his tenure has been marked by actions that have eroded our customs and threatened the stability of our community.
His refusal to recognize his customarily destoolment and continued use of his private residence as the official palace undermines the legitimacy of our chieftaincy institutions and disrupts the cultural continuity that binds us.
His actions have also involved the deployment of landguards—a force that stands in stark opposition to the principles of peace and unity that define our communities.
The unlawful occupation of Gomoa Assin by these landguards represents not just a violation of our customs but an outright attack on our sovereignty and the rule of law.
THE RELOCATION OF THE TRADITIONAL HEADQUARTERS: A SELF-SERVING MOVE
One of the most troubling actions of Omanhen Obrifo Ahor Ahunako Ankobia II has been the unilateral relocation of the Traditional Headquarters from Gomoa Assin to his private residence in Gomoa Buduatta.
This move is more than a mere geographical shift; it is a calculated attempt to consolidate power and transform a communal treasure into a personal possession.
This relocation disregards the historical and cultural significance of the traditional seat, reducing it to a symbol of one man’s self-interest rather than the welfare of the people.
NEGLECT OF ANCESTRAL RITUALS AND THE FABRICATION OF SPIRITUAL AUTHORITY
For over two decades, the customarily destooled chief has failed to perform the essential purification of the ancestral black stool, a ritual critical to the spiritual continuity and legitimacy of our chieftaincy lineage.
His neglect of this sacred duty borders on sacrilege, calling into question not only his spiritual authority but also his commitment to our traditions.
Moreover, the establishment of a new, unauthorized ancestral shrine at his residence, coupled with the abandonment of the ancestral sacred pot at the Gomoa Akyempim Palace, is a clear fabrication of spiritual authority.
This brazen disregard for sacred sites and ancestral rituals undermines our spiritual heritage, posing a direct threat to the sanctity of our traditions.
A DISREGARD FOR OUR ANCESTORS: THE REFUSAL TO HONOR THE DEAD
The failure to conduct the final funeral rites for past leaders, including Omanhen Okukutan Ahunako Acquah I (Brigadier General D. A. Asare) and Omanhemaa Nana Adadzewa I, is an outright violation of our customs.
These rites are vital, ensuring that our ancestors are honored and remembered, and that their guidance continues to bless our community.
The refusal to perform these duties disrespects the memories of our forebears, eroding the communal respect that unites us as a people.
UNDERMINING TRADITIONAL GOVERNANCE: THE DISSOLUTION OF THE NGWABAESSON
By dissolving the ancient Council of Chiefs, the Ngwabaesson, and replacing it with a council of his own design, Omanhen Obrifo Ahor Ahunako Ankobia II has orchestrated a thinly veiled power grab.
This dismantling of our traditional governance structure is a direct attack on centuries of collective wisdom and authority.
It represents a reckless attempt to centralize power in the hands of a few, thereby undermining the very principles of inclusive leadership and shared governance.
A REIGN OF INTIMIDATION AND FEAR: THE USE OF LANDGUARDS AND UNLAWFUL PRACTICES
The reign of Omanhen Obrifo Ahor Ahunako Ankobia II has been characterized by intimidation, landguard activities, and the unlawful occupation of lands. Such actions have no place in our communities, where peace, unity, and respect for tradition should be paramount.
His use of force and fear tactics has sown discord, deepened divisions, and fostered an environment of instability and insecurity.
A CALL TO DEFEND OUR TRADITIONS AND INSTITUTIONS
It is time for every citizen, every chief, and every elder to stand up against this onslaught on our cultural heritage.
The Principal Nsona Family of Gomoa, led by the resolute Paramount Queenmother Obaatanpa Ama Eduwa I, has shown the way.
Now, it is up to the rest of us to join this righteous cause and demand that our traditions, institutions, and customs be respected and preserved.
We must rise in unison to defend the sanctity of our governance structures and ensure that those who seek to exploit them for personal gain are held accountable.
Our forebears fought to preserve our way of life; now, it is our turn to protect their legacy.
