According to him, there are some chieftaincy cases pending before at the house and they are working hard to resolve them but appeals to the kingmakers that such incidents could be prevented if the right heirs are chosen to rule.

The Bono Regional House of Chiefs President, Osagyefo Oseadeayo Dr Agyemang Badu has called on the queen mothers in the region to follow due process during the appointment of chiefs to avert the numerous chieftaincy disputes in the region.

Speaking at the induction of three paramount chiefs in Suma Ahenkro, Dumase No.1 and Seikwa Traditional Councils respectively, the president of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs, Osagyefo Oseadeayo Dr Agyemang Badu II implored the queen mothers and the kingmakers to follow due process in the appointment of chiefs to avert the numerous chieftaincy disputes bedevilled the region and in following the right traditional orders will help bring development to all the affected towns in the region.

According to him, there are some chieftaincy cases pending before at the house and they are working hard to resolve them but appeals to the kingmakers that such incidents could be prevented if the right heirs are chosen to rule.

The President, however, cautions kingmakers who usually object to the appointment of chiefs to have tangible evidence or reasons as to why a certain candidate could not be made chief to help the determination of such issues in the house but a feeble excuse to prevent a candidate from ascending the stool of his ancestors shall be quashed by the house if any.

Honourable Justina Owusu-Banahene, the Bono Regional minister added that between June and November this year about 17 spousal deaths have been recorded in the region.

According to her, it is time for parents and traditional authorities to the decision to counsel the will-be couple to appreciate what goes into marriage before they start the journey to help prevent some of these incidents.

On behalf of the three Chiefs who were sworn in, the Omanhene of the Suma traditional area Odeneho Dr Afram Brempong III assured the house of bringing on board their rich experiences to help meet the progress and objectives towards the work of the house. 

He also calls on all chiefs to help prevent chieftaincy disputes in their jurisdictions as that retrogressed the development of the area
